We are now seeking a detail‑driven Bid Writer to support the creation of high‑quality, compelling, and fully compliant bid submissions across our civil engineering and construction projects. In this role, you will have a key role in securing successful outcomes and strengthening Sisk’s competitive position in the market by working closely with multidisciplinary teams to craft tailored tender documents that clearly articulate our technical capabilities, project methodologies and commitment to quality. 

 

 

Responsibilities

Bid Preparation & Documentation

  • Write, compile, and format bid documents for civil construction projects, ensuring all required elements are included and aligned with client needs and tender specifications.
  • Tailor bid content to each project’s specific requirements, including timelines, costs, methodologies, and quality expectations.
  • Ensure all bids adhere to legal, regulatory, and technical standards set by the client or governing bodies.

 

Information Gathering & Research

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, estimators, and cross‑functional teams to collect accurate and up‑to‑date project information.
  • Research project-specific factors such as site conditions, scope of works, and client preferences.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, market pricing, and competitor activity to strengthen bid competitiveness.

 

Stakeholder & Supplier Coordination

  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to gather quotations, pricing details, and relevant technical information required for bid submissions.
  • Maintain effective communication between all departments involved in the bid process to ensure accuracy and alignment.

 

Quality & Compliance Assurance

  • Review all bid documents for clarity, consistency, and compliance with tender requirements.
  • Verify that all submitted information meets client criteria and supports the company’s positioning as a competitive and reliable contractor.

Experience

  • Proven working experience as a Bid Writer within an infrastructure, construction technical writing environment.
  • Experience within the construction or civil engineering industry, with familiarity in tender processes and project information gathering.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, estimators, and project managers.
  • Proven track record of producing clear, accurate, and high‑quality written materials under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Relevant third level qualification (journalism, english, creative writing etc)
  • Strong writing, editing, and technical communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, persuasive content.
  • Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to understand and interpret technical and project-specific information.
