Work within the Assets & Services Division where you will be covering the Plant Department, Training Centre, Fleet Department and Property Portfolio, to support the commercial and delivery teams in achieving strong commercial outcomes. The role focuses on effective cost management, robust financial governance and value optimisation across internal service functions, whilst maintaining relationships, maximising opportunities and proactively managing risk.

Responsibilities

Commercial Management & Strategy

  • Support the implementation of the commercial strategy across Plant, Training Centre, Fleet and Property services.
  • Preparing and analysing internal cost plans, operational budgets and tenders plus evaluation of same, for works undertaken by internal departments.
  • Negotiating and finalising supplier and subcontractor orders relevant to plant procurement, joinery production, fleet maintenance, and property works.
  • Managing the financial and commercial aspects of internal work packages through to final account.
  • Maintaining accurate commercial records, cost data and document control systems.
  • Assist in achieving budget delivery and strong P&L performance across the division.
  • Assisting with monthly forecasts, KPI targets, asset utilisation metrics and contract value reconciliations.
  • Preparing internal valuations, variations and recharge schedules with appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Updating projected final accounts and submitting information in a timely and accurate manner.

 

Governance, Risk & Performance

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to influence, challenge and support commercial decision-making.
  • Maintain and protect Sisk's commercial and contractual entitlements across internal service arrangements.
  • Participate in contract value (CVRs) + Profit & Loss (P&L) reviews while maintaining an independent, analytical view of performance.
  • Identify, assess and report on commercial risks and opportunities across plant, fleet, joinery and property operations.
  • Develop an understanding of insurance, warranties, asset lifecycle costs and obligations linked to operational departments.
  • Engage in cash management activities to support strong cash flow
  • Support wider tender and procurement processes as required.

Experience

You will have:

  • Demonstrable track record in major infrastructure delivery, including cost planning, contract administration and stakeholder management
  • 5+ years' experience with simple Design and Build/Construction Design and Management contracts
  • 5+ years' Experience with larger Design and Build contracts

Qualifications

Required

  • Degree level education and working towards relevant professional accreditation 
  • Knowledge of contracts
  • Letter and report writing skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Contract value reviews (CVRs) + Profit & Loss (P&L) Reviews 
  • CIOB membership or eligibility 

Desirable

  • Knowledge of claims and dispute resolution
  • Understanding of contract law
  • Responsibility for controlling traditional contracts
  • Supervise Assistant Quantity Surveyors and sign-off Standard Method of Measurement or measurement issues
