We are Seeking a MEP Lead to join our Life Science Team in Cork.
Reporting to the Building Services Director, the MEP Lead is responsible for the strategic management and delivery of mechanical, electrical and plumbing operations within a defined business unit. The role ensures alignment with company standards, client expectations and regulatory requirements while driving performance, efficiency and sustainability across all projects in the business unit. The MEP BU Lead provides senior technical leadership and supports capability development within the MEP teams.

Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement the MEP strategy for the business unit in line with corporate objectives
Lead, mentor and develop MEP teams across projects to ensure capability and performance
Promote a culture of innovation, efficiency and continuous improvement
Project Oversight
Ensure consistent delivery of MEP projects to high quality, budget and programme standards
Oversee design, installation and commissioning of MEP systems across the business unit
Provide guidance on complex technical issues and problem-solving for projects
Stakeholder Engagement
Act as senior point of contact for clients, consultants and regulators on MEP matters within the business unit
Collaborate with project teams and supply chain partners to enhance delivery performance
Represent the business unit in strategic discussions and governance forums
Governance and Compliance
Ensure all MEP activities comply with regulatory requirements, ISO standards and company procedures
Monitor quality assurance, risk management and commissioning across projects
Support lessons learned, best practice sharing and continuous improvement initiatives
Continuous Improvement
Promote adoption of digital tools, BIM and advanced MEP technologies
Drive efficiency, sustainability and innovation in MEP design and delivery
Share knowledge and expertise across the business unit and wider organisation
Skills & Knowledge
Essential
Extensive experience in managing MEP delivery across multiple projects or business units
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
Proven leadership and team management skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders
Strong problem-solving, analytical and strategic planning skills
Desirable
Experience with Tier 1 contractor projects or complex multi-disciplinary programmes
Knowledge of sustainable MEP solutions and low-carbon design
Familiarity with digital construction tools, BIM and lean methodologies
Qualifications & Training
Essential
Degree or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, building services or related discipline
Professional accreditation or membership of a relevant body (e.g., CIBSE, IET, Engineers Ireland)
Desirable
Chartered status with a relevant professional body
Postgraduate qualification in building services, project management or sustainability
Training in digital design, BIM management or innovative MEP technologies
