Overview

 

John Sisk & Son are looking for a Document Controller to join our Flood defence project. This position will be based in Derby and is part of our Sisk Infrastructure Business Unit. 

 

The Senior Information Coordinator is key in driving excellence across all aspects of Information Management. Working in close collaboration with BU Information Managers, this role ensures consistent standards, workflows, and compliance across projects, while actively supporting and mentoring Information Coordinators to achieve best-in-class delivery. This role is responsible for overseeing the efficient management, control, and distribution of project and
organisational documentation, ensuring that accurate, up-to-date information is readily available to project teams, stakeholders, and third parties. The Senior Information Coordinator works closely with project managers, design teams, consultants, and subcontractors to maintain structured records, enforce version control, and optimise the use of digital platforms such as Dalux, Viewpoint, client CDEs, and any other systems in use. As both a mentor and technical expert, the Senior Information Coordinator provides guidance, troubleshooting support, and training for the wider information management team. They continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and digital workflows, ensuring the business remains at the
forefront of industry standards and innovation in information management. A Senior Information Coordinator will have experience in initiating projects, and handover stage on Sisk
projects with a service time deemed acceptable by the BU Information Manager and BU MD.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and host Dalux training sessions for new users within the project team, either with groups or on an individual basis 
  • Act as main point of contact for support and coaching of project users of Dalux, including third parties such as client teams, designers, subcontractors 
  • Development of project file naming protocols with information systems manager and project team, in line with DPD protocols 
  • Develop workflows alongside ISM, and manage throughout project lifecycle, with direction from the project team, in line with DPD procedures 
  • Creation of forms, tasks, etc on DFT (FV) in line with DPD procedures and site requirements
  • Configuration and implementation of change control processes within the CDE
  • Validation, checking and curating of all incoming and outgoing project documentation to the CDE including receipt, classification, verification, registry, distribution, and retrieval 
  • Configuration and preparation of status reports on workflows, sample submissions, TQs, RFIs and other reportable data 
  • Preparation and configuration of distribution matrices in compliance with project requirements
  • Establishment and maintenance of central site files, uncontrolled drawings, and registers
  • Collation of operation and maintenance, health and safety, quality, environmental, BCAR files
  • Attend meetings to allow engagement of team and stakeholders

Experience

  • Experience of working on large scale projects or frameworks with large volumes of
    data and information from various sources
  •  Experience with multiple CDE’s/DFTs
  • Experience with dealing with multidisciplinary design teams and supply chain
  • Experience in delivering training
  • Experience in delivering onboarding preferrable

    educating all stakeholders and ensuring they are strictly adhered to.
  • Well organised and self-motivated
  • Excellent document preparation and formatting skills
  • Ability to prioritise work, multitask and troubleshoot
  • Interest in project delivery processes, project administration and the wider industry
