Overview

 

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Turnover Engineer to join our Life Sciences team in Dublin. Reporting to the Regional Director/Regional MEP Lead, the Mechanical Turnover Engineer will coordinate all turnover activities throughout the project lifecycle.

 

This role is critical in ensuring a seamless transition from construction to commissioning and final handover to operations, maintaining compliance with project timelines, quality standards, and client expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a structured turnover plan, including division into systems and subsystems.

  • Manage and coordinate turnover packages, ensuring all documentation, punch lists, and quality records are complete and accurate.

  • Oversee the turnover process from construction through to commissioning, including system handover walkdowns.

  • Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, quality assurance, commissioning teams, and client representatives to align on turnover requirements and milestones.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between project teams and client representatives during turnover activities.

  • Ensure all turnover documentation—such as inspection records, test results, and punch list items—is properly compiled, reviewed, and approved.

  • Drive the timely resolution of punch list items to ensure readiness for system handover.

  • Maintain turnover logs, status reports, and dashboards to communicate progress to stakeholders.

Experience

  • Minimum 6 years’ relevant experience in a similar role.

  • Strong background in turnover, construction, or commissioning within large-scale industrial, construction, or infrastructure projects.

  • Proven experience managing system turnovers and handovers.

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and organisational skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field – or equivalent experience.
