Overview

 

We are recruiting for a Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team UK North Building team in Birimingham at our Great Chalres Street Project. As Ass. Quantity Surveyor you will be working within & assisting the commercial & construction team to ensure a successful project is delivered, while maintaining relationships, to maximise commercial returns & manage risk.

Responsibilities

  • Support the commercial team 
  • Carry out the following under supervision: 
  • Prepare tenders – measure, put into packages, analyse 
  • Prepare variations/valuations 
  • Prepare Final Accounts 
  • Prepare s/c valuations & Final Accounts  
  • Site measurement 
  • Attend site/subcontractor meetings 
  • Liaise with site management  
  • Take responsibility for: 
  • Maintaining site records, control documents  
  • Measuring progress on site 
  • Consider Risk & opportunity  
  • Understand & assist in the implementation of the commercial strategy 
  • At all times act in a suitable & professional manner 
  • Involved with & take some responsibility on traditional contracts  
  • Involvement but no responsibility for: 
  • Negotiation with subcontractors  
  • Interpretation of contract law 
  • Simple D&B/CDP 
  • D&B contracts 

Experience

  • Ability to effectively utilise a range of Microsoft Office tools 
  • Be fully conversant with the use of the Standard Method of Measurement 
  • Demonstrate potential for clear written & oral communications 
  • Demonstrate ownership/commercial awareness 
  • Effective time management, organisational, interpersonal and negotiation skills 

Qualifications

  • Completed or currently undertaking a degree in Quantity  
  • Surveying 
  • SMM 
  • JCT forms
