We’re now looking for a Senior Engineer to join our team on a fixed-term contract to December 2026 – with strong potential for further opportunities within the business.


Responsibilities

About the Role

As a Senior Engineer, you’ll play a leading role on a major construction project, taking ownership of all engineering functions and acting as the key point of contact for technical leadership, quality assurance, and site coordination.

Working closely with your line manager and wider project team, you’ll ensure that the highest standards are maintained across all aspects of engineering, with a strong focus on planning, quality control, and temporary works management.

 


What You’ll Do

  • Lead engineering strategy and on-site technical control

  • Provide oversight for setting out, QA, record keeping, and engineering deliverables

  • Coordinate and manage temporary works and lifting operations

  • Mentor and guide site engineers and graduates

  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality procedures, and safety protocols

  • Develop and review Inspection & Test Plans, method statements and risk assessments

  • Identify and resolve technical queries and RFIs

  • Drive timely closeout of non-conformances and maintain robust documentation

Experience

What You’ll Bring

  • Significant experience in civil engineering across a range of packages: piling, geotechnical, substructures, concrete, steelwork, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of temporary works, quality assurance, and lifting operations

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Proficiency in digital tools such as A-Site, Viewpoint, and Microsoft Office

Qualifications

What you'll have:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (B.Eng or equivalent)
  • Certifications:
      • Temporary Works Coordinator training

      • A61 CPCS Lifting Operations Appointed Person

      • Scaffold awareness/inspection

      • Lifting operations basic awareness
