We are looking for an experienced Travel Manager to lead and manage our corporate travel, meetings, and long-term accommodation strategy across multiple sites. This is a senior position within the Procurement function, responsible for managing a team, driving category performance, and ensuring cost-effective, sustainable travel solutions.

Responsibilities

Travel & Accommodation Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of travel—air, rail, car hire, hotels, and long-term accommodation.
  • Manage Travel Management Company (TMC) relationships, contracts, and performance.
  • Develop and maintain efficient booking systems, policies, and procedures.

 

Negotiation & Category Management:

  • Lead supplier negotiations, especially with airlines and hotel groups, ensuring optimal value and service.
  • Own and manage travel spend categories to meet budget and sustainability goals.

 

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Manage and support a small team responsible for daily operations.
  • Foster a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.

 

Data & Reporting:

  • Use advanced Excel and analytics tools (Power BI, dashboards, pivot tables) to drive insights, track spend, and influence decision-making.

 

Policy & Compliance:

  • Regularly review travel policies in line with market trends, risk management, and sustainability.

 

 

 

Experience

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in travel management within a complex, multi-site organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate with airlines and travel vendors.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience.
  • Proficient in Excel, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with TMC platforms and corporate travel booking systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience in construction, engineering, or project-based industries.
  • Knowledge of sustainable travel practices.
