Overview

Opportunity for a  Project manager to join the Life Science team in Macclesfield.

The Project Manager will report to the Framework Portfolio Manager.

Within the Framework for our client, we have a Portfolio of Projects ranging from £100k to £4.5m with a total value estimated as £25m per annum.  The Projects when Designed and Approved move into the Construction Stage.  It starts with 5 Projects at present and could reach 15 Projects active in either Design or Construction Stages at one time.

Each Project runs independently under its own team.  The Teams report into the Project Manager who coordinates and tracks each Project and reports status to the Portfolio Manager.  This role is a part of the Core Framework Team who oversees the entire Portfolio.

Dependent upon each Project’s size will determine whether the Project has just a Site Manager running it or another Project Manager.  This also could be down to the technical complexity of the Project if it requires multiple disciplines or sub-contractors to fulfil the scope requirements.

The Project stages are as follows.

Stage 0 – An estimation of cost, schedule and resources to fulfil the Design for the Project.  This is then submitted to the Client for Approval to progress to Stage 1.

Stage 1 – The Design is conducted, and deliverables will be a Tender Design, an estimated Cost and an estimated Schedule for Stage 2. This is then submitted to the Client for Approval to Stage 2.

Stage 2 – The Stage 1 The Design is moved from Tender to Construction. The Construction Teams selected and mobilised to conduct the Scope of Work to completion and Handover.
