Overview

 

 

Drive the implementation of a professional, competent, and knowledge-sharing culture across Sisk by identifying training needs and developing tailored programs to address them.

Design, deliver, and maintain effective training courses that assist in upholding Health and Safety standards, supporting the business in achieving its goal of Zero Incidents and Zero Injuries.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain training materials and programs to meet specific business objectives and educate employees on Sisk’s standards and expectations. This includes the delivery and updating of Site Safety courses equivalent to CITB Site Safety Plus and / or as appropriate across Ireland and European locations.
  • Coach employees at all levels through targeted training courses to ensure they understand Health and Safety expectations for their roles and responsibilities.
  • Educate employees on the Sisk Health and Safety Management System, encouraging and guiding its appropriate and effective use.
  • Deliver high-quality training courses to ensure participants have an exceptional learning experience, gaining skills to enhance health and safety performance across the business and understand Sisk's approach to managing Health and Safety.
  • Manage administrative tasks, (such as writing reports, overseeing the issuance of certificates) while collaborating with L&D and Health & Safety professionals.
  • Maintaining accurate records, update training calendars, and manage course attendance in conjunction with Learning and Development.
  • Collaborate with Learning and Development to develop training programs based on the evolving demands and needs of the business and individual projects across Ireland and Europe.
  • Work closely with employees, management, and the Learning & Development team to efficiently schedule training courses and ensure timely delivery to support the business.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, revising content to address identified performance challenges.
  • Stay current with the latest training trends, developments, and best practices, ensuring training programs align with Health and Safety legislation and standards across Ireland and European jurisdictions.
  • Assist with enrolment for training, scheduling, and coordination of the necessary resources to deliver training programs efficiently across multiple locations.

Experience

  • Effective and confident training provider, able to apply a range of training styles to deliver messages over and to assess the learning of those involved
  • 5 years’ experience of training within the construction industry
  • Strong IT skills, proficient in PowerPoint to create engaging presentation material, Excel for creating reports and MS Teams for delivering online training sessions
  • Strong Organisational Skills Including Time Management
  • Strong Communication Skills Including an Ability to Influence Other
  • Set and Achieve Performance Goals Annually in Line with Training Plans
  • An Analytical Skillset Suitable for a Training Environment
  • Experience in delivering the CITB Site Safety Plus courses
  • Experience in delivering UKATA Asbestos Awareness
  • Experience Working with a Central Learning and Development function CITB

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety/Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK) – or equivalent
  • Train the Trainer (QQI Level 6) or equivalent
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in Europe without restrictions.
  • Tech / Grad IOSH, preferred
  • Internal Auditor Skills, preferred
  • Solas approved tutor preferred
